January Vacancy Rates Remain The Same

The residential rental vacancy rate in Ballarat has remained at 1.3% in January according to the latest figures released by the Real Estate Institute of Victoria.

Ballarat’s median rent for houses in January remained the same at $380 per week whilst the median rent for units/townhouses has decreased to $300 per week from $350 per week in December.

Below is a breakdown of median rents in Ballarat
Houses: 2 bedrooms $315 per week, 3 bedrooms $375 per week, 4 bedrooms $440 per week
Units & Apartments: 1 bedroom $220 per week, 2 bedrooms $320 per week, 3 bedrooms $370 per week

The Regional Victorian vacancy rate has increased slightly to 2.0% in January with a median house rent of $450 per week and units $360 per week.

Geelong’s vacancy rate has also remained the same at 3.1% and median house rent $485 per week whilst in Bendigo the vacancy rate is 1.4% and median rent is $450 per week.

The vacancy rate in Melbourne has decreased again to 2.4% from 2.5%, with their median house rent sitting at $520 per week with units at $475 per week.
