RentRight – A New App For Victorian Renters

By Georgina Shanahan

Renters across Victoria can now use a free smartphone app – RentRight to ask for repairs, give notice and get the latest information about renting rights.

RentRight puts important information at renter’s fingertips. It covers topics such as repairs, rent costs, leaving a property and breaking a lease, the condition report, and getting the bond back.

Renters can also use the app to email their landlord or agent, calculate rent and budget for moving house.

RentRight guides renters through the steps required to serve notices to the landlord or agent by email. The app has ready-to-complete forms to help renters notify their landlord or agent of different issues, including repairs and breaking the lease.

Available for iPhone and Android users, RentRight can be downloaded now from Google Play™ or the iTunes® store.

For more information about RentRight, including a video on using the app, visit consumer.vic.gov.au/rentright.
