Snapped Up Central City Property

A four bedroom Victorian home ripe for renovation in one of Ballarat’s popular streets drew a large crowd at auction on Saturday 4th February, 2012.

The home at 6 Sussex Street, auctioned by Ray White Ballarat is located just minutes from shops, cafes, schools, hospitals and Lake Wendouree.

Auctioneer and Director of Ray White Ballarat Phillip Lee said bidding started at $300,000 with four bidders placing 18 bids before the property was sold for $361,000 to first home buyer Jamie Gardner. Mr Gardner, a carpenter intends to renovate the property.

Mr Lee said the property had generated huge interest with over 50 inquiries and inspections in the lead up to the auction.  Another lake area property coming up for auction by Ray White Ballarat at 33 Victoria Avenue, just off Lake Wendouree has also generated huge interest and is due to be auctioned on Saturday 18 February, 2012 at 2pm.
